Maintenance and care of fan speed regulators
The maintenance and upkeep of fan speed regulators can be approached from aspects such as daily cleaning, regular inspection, usage norms, and component maintenance, as follows:

First, daily cleaning

Shell cleaning: Gently wipe the shell of the speed controller with a clean and soft cloth to remove dust and dirt, maintain its good heat dissipation state, and prevent dust from entering the interior and affecting performance.

Ventilation outlet maintenance: Ensure that the ventilation outlets of the governor are unobstructed. If the ventilation opening is blocked, the heat cannot be dissipated, which will affect the working efficiency of the governor and even cause it to be damaged.

Second, regular inspections

Circuit inspection: Carefully check the wire joints. If any are loose, tighten them promptly to prevent poor contact caused by loose circuits and various malfunctions.

Temperature monitoring: During normal operation, the temperature of the governor should be within a reasonable range. If the temperature is found to be too high, the cause should be identified promptly. It might be due to excessive load or poor heat dissipation.

Functional testing: Check whether all speed regulation functions are normal and if there are any deviations in parameter Settings, so as to identify potential problems in time and solve them in advance.

Third, usage norms

Avoid moisture: The governor should be placed in a dry environment to prevent moisture from entering the interior. If the working environment is relatively humid, protective measures can be taken for the governor, such as using a moisture-proof cover, etc.

Avoid overload: Do not keep the speed regulator in an overloaded state for a long time. Always pay attention to the current and voltage values of the motor to prevent it from overloading.

Fourth, component maintenance

Brush inspection: Check whether the brush pressure between each brush is uniform and whether the pressure fingers are pressed properly. Check whether the edge of the brush is cracked and worn to the shortest length. Check whether the brush braids of the electric brush are complete, whether there are any breaks or broken strands, whether the connection with the brush frame is good, and whether there is any grounding or short circuit. Check whether the brush or brush braid has changed color due to overheating, and whether there is any jamming or swinging of the brush in the brush grip.

Commutator inspection: Check whether the color of the oxide film on the surface of the commutator is normal, whether there is any spark between the brush and the commutator, whether there is any accumulation of carbon powder and oil dirt on the surface of the commutator, and whether there is any dust accumulation on the brush holder and brush grip, etc.

Cooling system inspection: For closed cooling systems, attention should be paid to water level and air temperature. It is also necessary to check whether the cooler has any leakage or scaling, and whether the supplementary air network is blocked or not.
